Is mileage really unlimited?
Yes — every Foxie rental includes unlimited mileage, so you can drive the entire island without per-kilometre charges.
Where do I pick up the campervan?
At our base in Keflavík, minutes from Keflavík International Airport (KEF). We provide a free airport transfer both ways.
Do I need a 4×4 in Iceland?
Only if your route includes the Highlands or F-roads (mountain routes that legally require a 4×4). For the Ring Road and Iceland's main paved sights, a 2WD campervan is perfect. If you're not sure, tell us your plan and we'll match you to the right vehicle.
Can I drive on F-roads and cross rivers?
Only in a 4×4 rated for it, and terms vary by vehicle. Water damage is generally not covered by insurance, so always check your rental agreement first. Ask our team and we'll point you to a Highland-ready 4×4 and exactly what its terms cover.
Are the campers ready for winter?
Yes — our campers include thermostat-controlled diesel night heating and insulation, and our premium builds add a 1 kWh battery, an 1800 W inverter and a backup electric heater, so they're comfortable year-round, including deep winter.
Can I stay off-grid and charge my devices?
Yes. Our premium campers carry a 1 kWh battery and an 1800 W pure-sine inverter, so you can charge phones, cameras and laptops and run small 230 V appliances well away from any hook-up.
What do I need to bring?
Just your clothes and sense of adventure. Bedding, kitchen equipment and heating are already on board.
