1. Who we are

Foxie Campers (“we”, “us”) is the data controller for the personal data described here.

2. What we collect

• Booking & contact details — your name, email, phone number, country, driving licence number, and flight number when provided.
• Rental details — the vehicle, dates, pickup location, insurance and extras you select, and your booking reference.
• Payment information — card payments are processed by our payment provider (Rapyd). We do not see or store your full card number; we receive only a confirmation and the amount paid.
• Website usage — the basic information every browser sends to every website (IP address, device and browser type). Essential cookies keep the site working and remember your booking choices (see section 8). Google Analytics runs only if you click Accept in the cookie banner; if you click Decline, it doesn’t. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.
• Live chat messages — if you use our on-site chat, we store your name, email, optional booking reference, and the message text on Foxie systems in the European Union. We use that data only to answer you (by chat or email) and to link the conversation to your booking when the details match. We do not sell chat content or use it for marketing. While the chat is open, staff can see messages and text typed in the chat box in real time. If you send a photo, we keep it with the chat after removing its location data. Chat conversations, including any email you leave and any photos, are deleted automatically 4 days after the last message.
• Anonimowe wizyty na stronie w czasie rzeczywistym — gdy działa czat na żywo, przez chwilę widzimy, które publiczne strony są właśnie otwarte (adres podstrony, kraj i przybliżone miasto, rodzaj urządzenia, język i skąd do nas trafiasz), żeby nasz zespół mógł zaproponować pomoc. Ta informacja zostaje w pamięci serwera tylko przez około dwie minuty od ostatniego sygnału ze strony, nie jest zapisywana jako profil osobowy, a my nie stosujemy fingerprintingu przeglądarki. Jeden mały własny plik cookie (fx_visits) liczy, ile razy twoja przeglądarka odwiedziła stronę i kiedy była tu ostatnio, żeby zespół widział powracające wizyty; nie ma w nim imienia, adresu e-mail ani adresu IP, nie udostępniamy go nikomu, a sam plik wygasa po 13 miesiącach. Możemy przechowywać anonimowe dzienne zestawienia (strona × kraj × urządzenie × źródło) bez identyfikatorów odwiedzających. Na stronach kamperów i rezerwacji widzimy też, jakiego kampera i jakie daty oglądasz (żadnych innych danych rezerwacji). Jeśli zaczniesz czat, razem z rozmową (tak jak wiadomości) zapisujemy kopię ścieżki stron z tej karty, kraj, urządzenie, źródło wejścia oraz oglądanego kampera i daty. Rozmowy na czacie, razem z adresem e-mail, który zostawisz, i zdjęciami, które wyślesz, są automatycznie usuwane 4 dni po ostatniej wiadomości. Zdjęcia zapisujemy ponownie bez danych o lokalizacji. Wiadomości na czacie mogą być tłumaczone maszynowo przez DeepL SE (Niemcy), żeby nasz zespół mógł je przeczytać i odpisać w twoim języku.
• E-maile z planera podróży — jeśli poprosisz planer podróży o przesłanie planu e-mailem, użyjemy tego adresu tylko po to, żeby raz wysłać plan. Wiadomość zostaje w naszym zwykłym rejestrze wysłanych e-maili; nie dopisujemy cię do żadnej listy i nie wykorzystujemy adresu do marketingu.
• GPS w kamperze — każdy kamper Foxie ma lokalizator GPS. Przesyła on do naszego biura pozycję kampera, jego prędkość i stan zapłonu. Korzystamy z tych danych, żeby w trasie dbać o pojazd i o ciebie: w razie awarii lub kradzieży, gdy kamper znajdzie się na drodze zamkniętej lub zakazanej, i żeby otworzyć naszą bramę, kiedy wracasz. Historia pozycji jest automatycznie usuwana po 30 dniach. W czasie wynajmu ostatnią pozycję swojego kampera widzisz też w planerze podróży w zakładce „Moja rezerwacja”: tylko przez swój prywatny link do rezerwacji, tylko od odbioru do zwrotu kampera i bez śladu przejechanej trasy. W każdej chwili możesz ją tam ukryć.

3. How we use your data & our legal basis

• To provide your rental — take and manage your booking, hand over and receive the camper, and give you support. Jeśli zaczniesz rezerwację i przerwiesz ją, zanim zapłacisz, możemy wysłać ci jeden e-mail z przypomnieniem o tej niedokończonej rezerwacji. (Legal basis: performance of a contract.)
• To meet legal duties — accounting, tax and vehicle records. (Legal basis: legal obligation.)
• To run and protect our business — prevent fraud, secure our systems, and improve our service. (Legal basis: legitimate interests.)
• Marketing — we do not currently send marketing emails. If that changes, we will email you only if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time. (Legal basis: consent.)

4. Who we share it with

We share data only with providers that help us run the service, under contracts that require them to protect it:

• Rapyd — payment processing.
• Hetzner — website and data hosting (servers in the EU).
• Cloudflare — media delivery / content-delivery network, and Cloudflare Web Analytics: anonymous visit counts, no cookies.
• Google Workspace — our business email.
• Google Analytics — shows us which pages are visited and where visitors come from, only if you click Accept. We don’t use Google for advertising.

We never sell your personal data. We may disclose data where required by law.

5. International transfers

Some providers may process data outside Iceland/the EEA. Where that happens — for example Google Workspace (US), Google Analytics (US), and Cloudflare (US) — we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. How long we keep it

We keep booking and financial records for as long as required by Icelandic bookkeeping and tax law (generally seven years). Other personal data is deleted when it is no longer needed for the purposes above.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data erased where the law allows;
• restrict or object to certain processing;
• receive your data in a portable format;
• withdraw consent at any time (where we rely on consent).

To exercise any of these, email info@foxiecampers.is. You also have the right to complain to the Icelandic Data Protection Authority, Persónuvernd (personuvernd.is).

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies that keep the site working and remember your booking choices, and one small visit-counter cookie (fx_visits, see “Anonymous live page visits” above). It only stores how many times your browser has visited and the date of your last visit, holds no name, email or IP address, is never shared, and expires after 13 months. You can delete it in your browser at any time. We don’t use advertising cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.

Analytics cookies are only set if you click Accept in the cookie banner. Then Google Analytics records which pages you visit, how you found us (for example a Google search or a link), your approximate location (country or city), your device and browser type and, if you book, the booking reference, amount and camper. It never receives your name, email or phone number, and Google Analytics does not store your IP address. We keep this data for 14 months and use it only to improve the website and see which channels bring bookings. We don’t use Google for advertising.

If you click Decline, no analytics cookies are set. Google then only receives an anonymous signal that a page was viewed, without any identifier that could recognise you. We remember your choice for six months; change it at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page.
